About Silprene™

Silprene™ material is basically composed with two layers of elastic fabric and sandwiching a layer of medical grade silicone gel.

There are two primary types of Silprene:

Silprene-F:The middle layer of Silprene is furnished with a full layer of silicone gel.

Silprene-P:The middle layer of Silprene is furnished with silicone gel that has a designed pattern. The pattern is created by controlling the width and thickness of the silicone gel and target norm. Silprene-P therefore can create a mechanical property that reacts to a specific pattern designed. Unique feature of Silprene- P is that it is better ventilation than Neoprene and Silprene-F.

Silprene™ Is Eco And Skin Friendly

At Bodyvine™, we utilized sophisticated R&D and manufacturing capabilities to develop the most advanced, eco-friendly and innovative materials and processes for the healthcare market. Clinically, silicone is used commonly in skin and wound care and true allergic reactions to silicone are extremely rare. Our silicone gel formula and fabric materials used in Silprene™ are all non-toxic and non-allergenic and will not support bacterial growth. Please see some test reports we attached here for reference.

Silprene vs. Neoprene

As far as usage on human body is concern, the common drawbacks of traditional Neoprene are bulkiness, body heat retained and some allergic skin reactions were reported previously. In compared to standard Neoprene (thickness: 2.54mm), standard Silprene™ (with 0.35mm silicone gel) is much thinner while it can provide better elasticity and better resilience. See below properties test reports. Therefore, Silprene™ can reduce the bulkiness problem from Neoprene and allows better joint range of motion. Moreover, it could also provide a better fit around the anatomical structure due to its characters of both higher elasticity and thinner thickness. With all the advantages of Silprene™, such as thinner, higher elasticity and better resilience, allergy resistant, it is certainly more comfortable to wear than products made of Neoprene.
